Costa Rica: Crocodile Bridge & Jaco Beach

Our next adventure in Costa Rica took us down to Quepos which is a small city on the pacific coast but down closer to central Costa Rica. The drive took us just under 5 hours (thankfully no car sickness this time) and we made a few stops along the way to see a few sights including Crocodile Bridge, & Jaco beach before checking into our next airbnb.

We also got to experience some new Costa Rican food, including a spicy eggs and chicken red sauce dish, french fries with hot dogs in it, ceviche in a bag, and the most glorious snow cones we’d ever had! Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of the snow cones (we were having too much fun eating them), but they included a few scoops of vanilla powdered milk, homemade syrup, normal artificial syrup, and then some sweet and condensed milk on top! So yummy! We’ve really loved trying so many new things, and the snow cones is definitely one we want to try at home!

The next day was a Sunday, and thankfully our church is still doing zoom meetings, (in addition to attending in person) so we were able to attend our worship service remotely, and enjoyed hearing beautiful testimonies, feeling the spirit, and learning more about Christ. How grateful we are for Christ, his gospel, and love for us. ❤

Afterwards we found ourselves with a beautiful sunny day (it had been raining most of the night before) so we decided to take advantage of that and Adam found us a park near the beach to explore. Unfortunately two of the parks we went to were locked up and closed, but we were able to take a family walk along some beautiful beaches, and see a sleeping sloth in one of the trees we passed.

The rainy weather later moved in so we headed back home, but we spent the rest of the evening playing games like Medusa, In reverse (a game where you sing on your phone and it reverses what you sing and others have to figure out what song it was), and Hot potato (using a real hot potato!)

I also took a walk around our Quepos Airbnb as the grounds were so lovely and had so many beautiful flowers and trees I’d never seen! God sure is amazing! ❤️

Coming up next – Pics from our day in Manuel Antonio National Park. Can you tell I’m playing catch up? 😂
