Part 2 of our Costa Rica trip thankfully came with a little less drama, but we still had a few memorable adventures including a 5.6 earthquake out in the middle of the ocean that shook our airbnb pretty good đ˛ (and scared me enough to watch the news the rest of the night for Tsunami warnings), and then another day WAZE decided to take us for a “little shortcut” through a 4×4 dirt road on our way to the beach, where we drove through 4 giant mud puddles!
But the kids loved it and it’s all for the story anyway, right? đ It certainly made our trip more memorable and exciting! But needless to say our prayers have been full of gratitude for the love and protection God has shown us. đ
We began part 2 of our trip by checking out of our airbnb in La Fortuna/Arenal and then heading to a hot springs resort that came with our ziplining adventure, but which we had to postpone due to a lightning and thunder storm the day before. We stopped there for some mud baths, cold pools, and hot springs before driving 3 hours to our next location of Coco beach East of Tamarindo on the Gold coast.
I was most excited about this part of the trip seeing as it involved beaches (which fill me), and sure enough the beaches in Costa Rica are indeed beautiful! We ended up going to about 8 different beaches while in Coco, met up with the Rob & Heather Powell Williams and their family again, (our angel family that took out money for us when we realized we forgot our debit cards), we boogie boarded, eat more amazing local cuisine, watched lots of Jazz games, and spent way too much time at the pool!
