Day 7 on Bora Bora was one of my favorites! When I asked my parents what their favorite activity was during their time in Tahiti 23 years ago, they told me about a little boat they had rented just the two of them to explore Bora Bora. It sounded so dreamy and romantic so renting a boat became one of the first things I asked about when we arrived on the island, and thankfully one company still offered small boat rentals! Yay! Especially considering so many companies had shut down due to Covid.
We ended up booking the boat for 2 hours (which for us was plenty) and took it all over the bay and to several nearby islands and beaches. We saw about 6 sting rays as we went and so many different colors of water.
Speaking of water. I’d never seen such beautiful water in my life! I had to keep pinching myself because I thought I must be dreaming! 😂 It literally took my breath away. It was so clear, so pure, and the most beautiful shades of blue. Words just can’t describe it. It was simply heavenly.
After about an hour and half exploring we saw some boats anchored with a bunch of people snorkeling at one of the coral reefs and decided to jump in and snorkel with them!
We really lucked out because the spot we stopped at apparently is famous for having a moray eel that is like 6 feet long and a foot wide! While we were there a tour guide from one of the other boats dove down to feed the eel and got the giant eel to come out of his hole where we could see him. The guide (who was a local) fed him and then HUGGED the eel while he slithered up and out of the guides arms! It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen! I was so wishing I’d splurged at that moment to buy an underwater camera! 😂 I may have to see if someone else has footage and upload a video. It was amazing! Our Utah friends also just happened to be there with one of the tours too which was a special treat. But definitely one of the best snorkeling experiences I’ve ever had! 🥰
Bora Bora may just have become my new #1 favorite place I’ve ever been, and definitely gets the award for the prettiest water! It definitely was one of my best days ever!
To be with my sweetie of 19 years, in such a beautiful place, and to have such an awesome wildlife experience was truly special! God’s creations simply are extraordinary! So grateful for the beautiful world he created for us all to explore and enjoy! ❤️ I was reminded of the scripture in 2 Nephi 2:25 that says “Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have joy.” Truly a joyful beautiful day! 🌸
