Devils Head Fire Lookout

After getting to the meadow, the last stretch of our journey consisted of climbing 143 stairs to get to the top of Devils Head which gave us an amazing view of the area.  I just couldn’t believe how beautiful it was and loved the jagged rocky mountains and pristine views. I could tell why this was a favorite hike for Kevin and Teri. It was absolutely breathtaking! But I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. 🙂

I loved this shot of a lone person standing in the far distance atop this rock. So cool!

After exploring the top for awhile, we headed back down the stairs and then spent some time hanging out in the meadow. The kids found these cool narrow passages you could go through and that became the big test of endurance! ha ha!

Kevin once again was awesome and took a turn carrying little Jamis. He and Adam were troopers to help so much with the kids.

And since Adam’s back was now free – I thought I’d take a turn getting a ride!
Sure do love this man of mine!

We finished off our hike by splitting into two groups. I took most of the older kids with me (Brans, Weslee, Harry & Daws) as the advanced party, and then Adam, Kevin, and Teri stayed back with the littles to help them down the mountain more slowly. I was way overdue to pump a bottle for Jamis, and so wanted to hurry down the mountain as quick as I could. The boys did great keeping up with me and loved taking “short cuts” every chance we could. 🙂
We ended the evening with Teri jumping in our van with me so we could get kids home and in baths while the men folk drove in the other car to go and pick up dinner at a burger place that was highly rated. And oh my was the food ever good! My mouth still waters for that awesome burger and Parmesan fries! Yum! We sure did love our day spent in the mountain surrounded by amazing beauty and amazing family! We so do love Kevin and Teri and their sweet family and the adventurous fun people they are!
