Another fun thing that we did during our time visiting Kevin and Teri was to take a drive and hike up to a place called Devils Head. We actually ended up taking a wrong dirt road the first time we attempted to drive to Devils head, but that ended up being just perfect because we found a wonderful spot for a picnic! The kids loved climbing on all the boulders while they eat their sandwiches and I was just in heaven having a picnic in such beautiful mountains!
Luckily we eventually were able to run into a motorcyclist though, who helped get us back on the road we needed to take to REALLY get to Devils head. I always love kind and helpful people! By the time we got to the trail head for our hike though, this little guy was in desperate need of a bum change! I couldn’t help but snatch this cute picture of all his yummy chubbiness! đ
And then we were off on our hike! Teri explained to me on the way up that they’d just recently had a tornado come through and take out a bunch of their trees. You can see many of the fallen trees behind us that the forest service has tried to cut in order to keep the trails clear. Pretty crazy though to think of a tornado hitting such a large mountain!
Sure love this pretty lady! And my sweet little miss of course too!
Us girls may have been slightly out numbered! đ
We loved hiking amidst the beautiful fall leaves!
Branson – King of the world!
Super baby! LOVE this shot of my two cuties!
As you can imagine, the kids were in boy heaven having so many fun boulders to climb on. We eventually had to make the rule that everyone needed to “stay on the trail” because the kids wanted a picture of themselves after they climbed up every rock! ha ha! They were so cute.
Kevin and Adam were the super hero Dads of the day taking turns carrying tired kids up the trail. Thank goodness for strong Dads! What would we ever do without them?
The higher we hiked – the more beautiful the views became!
Eventually we ended our hike in the big beautiful field you see below! But then the real fun began and we got to climb hundreds of stairs to the top of Devils head. More pictures of that to come!
Don’t those stairs look fun? We sure do love fun adventures like these!
