We had a great time exploring the lava tubes and I had to laugh because I assumed the caves would be COLD so I had the kids all bring coats and hats. We all ended up needing to shed our coats within just a few minutes because it was so warm. My camera battery unfortunately died right as we were about to enter the caves, but luckily Adam had his phone on him which I used to capture the below pictures.
The Lava Tube caves themselves were just ginormous and went on for quite sometime. It is just crazy to imagine how much lava actually flowed through these back in the day. You can see the sheer size in some of the pictures when you compare how small we are. Very cool little family excursion though. We all loved this part of our day at Craters.
