Colesville, NY and Harmony, PA

One of the nice things about road trips and driving 4-6 hours every day is that you have a lot of time in the car to journal, read, edit pictures, and post your adventures on Facebook so you’ll remember them later. 😂

During our trip, We loved starting each day off with a safety prayer, and listening to scriptures and talking about them. Adam also downloaded a book with stories from the places we were visiting which was fun to listen to.

On this day we especially loved listening because we got to hear about our prophet Joseph Smiths time in Colesville, NY with the Knight family, as well as his proposal to Emma Hale and honeymoon in the Josiah Stowells home.

We also visited Harmony, PA near the Susquehanna river where Emma lived, and where she and Joseph met and later lived and had their first child who died shortly after birth. We saw their baby’s grave as well of those of Emma’s parents and toured the two homes.

We then were able to go to the visitors center where we watched a video about Oliver Cowdery who acted as Joseph’s scribe while he translated the Book of Mormon and the miracles he saw, as well as how Gods priesthood was restored after a humble prayer about baptism. I felt the strongest spirit and was brought to tears.

We ended the day by eating some local Thai food and then heading to the cutest Airbnb cabin you ever did see where we went hot tubing and then headed straight to bed. Another great day making memories! ❤️
