Florence, Heceta Light House, & Cape Perpetua

The next leg of our journey led us to Eugene Oregon and then onto Florence which is on the coast of Oregon. This was my first time seeing the Oregon coast and boy oh boy was it lovely! As we drove we got to see some amazing forests with beautiful lakes and rivers.

We even passed this big rock full of graffiti in one of the canyons.

You can imagine all our excitement when the ocean finally came into view! We were so excited we pulled over just to take a picture! Here we are in Florence, Oregon.

We then stopped at the Lion caves, but some local tourists just told us to go down the road a bit and you could see lots of sea lions for free. So mostly we just stopped here to use the restroom.

Our next stop was to the Haceta Head Light House which you can see in the picture below. We later took a hike from the beach to the house to the lighthouse.

Sure enough, later we were able to spot lots of sea lions sunbathing on the rocks.

We stopped for awhile to play at the beach before heading up to the light house.

I was in love with all the trees and vegetation as we hiked! Oregon is so green!

Unfortunately tours for the light house weren’t available that day due to some renovations they were doing. Shucks a darn!

This is the house the light house attendant lives in.

After our hike we spent some time playing in the waves and looking for sea shells.

I thought the moss all over the rocks was interesting.

We sure did love having some beach time!
