The rest of our drive up the Oregon Coast took us to the highest rated tripadvisor attractions, but unfortunately for us it was pouring rain at every single place which meant all we really did was stop for pictures! I was so disappointed because I had envisioned making beautiful memories with the kids at each of these places and having some sunny beach time, but what can ya do? I guess it just means that I’ll have to add coming back to the Oregon Coast to my bucket list! I can handle that! It really is a beautiful state! And I think it deserves quite a bit more exploring!
Here we are at Hug point which has a fun cave right on the beach!
And this is Haystack Rock! Remember the movie Goonies and how Chunk breaks a picture up in Mikey’s attic and finds a metal key like medallion in the shape of a scull that matches up to three rocks in the ocean? Well this is where that shot was taken! It was pretty cool getting to see in person and tell the kids all about it! They had just seen the movie Goonies on vidangel a few weeks earlier so it was fresh on their minds.
Below is what it might have looked like on a clear day.
Here is a shot looking at Haystack Rock and Cannon Beach (where we had hoped to play. Unfortunately it is super dupe foggy so you can’t see much.
But this is what it would have looked like if it had been sunny! Isn’t it beautiful?
The last stop of our day was to a place called Ecola Stat Park. We could tell it was a beautiful place and wished we’d gotten to spend more time playing here. Especially considering we had to pay money to get in and were only in the park maybe 10 minutes. Oh well. At least we got to see it!
Indian Beach
In any case, I think I will definitely have to come back to see these amazing places another time! Going from the pictures, they are just incredible when the sun is out!
