Bean Museum Field Trip with Harry

Back on April 12th, Harry had a field trip to the Bean Museum with his 3rd grade class. I usually try to attend the kids field trips with them, but this one happened to land on the same day I was supposed to help out at Ady’s preschool. Harry was super duper sad about it, but he’d forgotten to give me the information about the field trip until the night before, so there wasn’t really anything I could do about it.
However, my amazing husband was able to work it out with his Mom to go and help at Ady’s school so that I could go with Harry! Is he awesome or what? And lets not forget my incredible Mother-in-law who filled in for me! Thank you Mumsie! I truly have the best family in the world! So in the end I was able to go with my boy and make his dreams come true by going on his trip to the museum. He was all smiles about that and loved getting me all to himself for the day!
We ended up driving up in our van with Harry’s friend Ethan, Peggy Lau (his Mom who is my friend in the ward) and another Dad named Frank whose son was in Harry’s class. Then one we arrived at the museum the kids got to go to class where they were taught about different animals and plants and how they all work together. They even had a few live animals the kids could touch and pet (a Snake, Turtle, and Spider). Then it was free time to explore for the kids!

This is Harry’s reaction to learning something new about one of the animals.

We loved all the tulips in bloom on BYU’s campus.

Afterwards the school buses took the kids up to Rock Canyon Park (behind the temple) for lunch and some play time. Harry and I stopped at Costa Vida to get a sweet pork salad and then headed up to eat our lunch on the grass. Then Harry took off with his friends to play while I got some girl time in and got to hang out and talk with my friend Peggy Lau. It sure was a fun day!
