After dinner at Granny’s Drive In, we drove the rest of the way up to my parents Camperworld RV park in Knotty Pine (which is near Kamas). We loved seeing the beautiful Jordanelle Reservoir as we drove and stopped to take a few pictures.
That night we mostly just set up camp, took a little walk around the RV park to the river, and then hung out in my parents trailer talking, playing games, and watching movies.
The next morning we had a nice breakfast, and then headed to the pool to beat the afternoon heat. I unfortunately forgot to take pictures, but we all had a ball doing “swim lessons” in the pool, standing on Adam’s shoulders, playing with Nana, and throwing around a frisbee.
Adam found a few cool hikes he wanted to go on that afternoon but Nana and Papa didn’t feel like hiking in the heat of the day, and so they offered to take Jamis and Branson (who didn’t want to go) while the rest of us went for a hike. Unfortunately we couldn’t find the place Adam had originally wanted to hike, but we did end up finding Mill Hollow Reservoir as we explored and instead decided to hike around that. Wowsee wow wow was it ever beautiful! Very much like Tony Grove with all the lovely wild flowers and trees. We also loved that we had the whole thing to ourselves! We only saw one other guy fishing while we hiked.
While driving we came across this beautiful field of yellow flowers. Gorgeous!
And here is a shot of Mill Hollow Reservoir from the top. We drove up the road for a bit before stopping and deciding to hike.
Check out this field of wild flowers!
Here is a closer look. Wish the camera did it justice!
At first we were just going to stop and throw rocks for a minute, but then we discovered a hiking trail and decided to take it. Best decision ever!
Adam showing the kids the fish jumping in the water.
Ad was so wishing he’d brought his fishing pole!
Every turn was so breathtaking! I was in my happy place!
We loved finding a little river and had fun figuring out a way to cross it.
Later we found an old tree that had fallen in the water and I dared Adam to go out as far as he could on it. He wanted to go further than this picture, but we were worried he’d fall in and get his new iphone watch all wet (that he’d forgotten to take off).
I always love watching how cute Adam is with Ady on hikes helping her over logs and holding her hand. What a good Daddy!
Loved finding new varieties of wild flowers.
What a beautiful hike! We ended up getting home just in time to feed Jamis and then we made tinfoil dinners for super and had fun sitting around my parents RV talking. We finished off the evening with a fire over at our camp spot where we roasted marshmallows and made smores! Always a favorite of the kids!

The next morning Adam had a job interview with Domo in American Fork, so he got up early and headed home to shower and put the finishing touches on a presentation he was putting together for them. He actually ended up getting a job offer our last day camping with my parents which was pretty exciting, but in the end he and I both felt the timing just wasn’t right – so he turned it down. They came back multiple times with better offers, and Adam was actually super excited about the opportunity and people he’d be working with at Domo, but he also had a few things going on at Adobe that he wanted to play out. Plus he would have had to take a hit with his salary and benefits so in the end he felt it best just to stay at Adobe. But we think Domo would be an awesome company to work for at some point.
While Adam was gone getting ready for his interview, the kids and I just hung out in the trailer and sort of had a lazy morning sleeping in. In fact, if I remember right, Jamis slept through the night 8 hours straight for the first time at just over 9 weeks old, which was HEAVENLY! And he pretty much has slept through the night everyday since then! What a fella!
However, he was a little impatient that morning to eat seeing that he went longer in between meals!
Ady was good to try to help him be happy by singing to him until I could get a bottle pumped.
Here’s a view of our very messy trailer that morning!
And the view from our tent trailer. We lucked out and didn’t have any campers right next to us.

The rest of the day we pretty much just hung out at the park pool or my Mom’s RV watching movies and playing games and then the kids and I got the trailer all packed up so we could leave as soon as Adam got there. I had Young Womens I was in charge of to get back to that night and we were getting down to the wire. I was pretty proud of myself for figuring out how to put the trailer down though (with the exception of the door which my Dad helped me with) and loved getting to spend the day with my Mom and Dad. We ended the evening by picking up a pizza on our way home, which I stuffed in my face as fast as humanly possible so I could get to my meeting. Funny enough though I ended up having to cancel YW’s that night when only one girl showed up! We were supposed to go hiking, but it was 4th of July week and most families were busy doing other things. It worked out well though and I was able to go home and help Adam unpack and put kids to bed.
Sure was a fun get-away with my parents! We sure do love any chance we get to be with them! Thanks again for inviting us up to your Camperworld! We love you!
