Dawsons Field Trip to the Museum of Natural Curiosity

On March 11th I was able to with Dawson on his field trip to the Museum of Natural Curiosity. Miss Kitchen (Dawsons Teacher) divided us up into groups and each parent was responsible to watch 4 or 5 kids from her class. We had a fun little group and even a 2nd parent volunteer (Sammy’s Dad) who tagged along with us. It was fun to get to explore the museum together. Unfortunately we only had a few hours at the museum though before we had to head back to the school, so the kids and I booked it through the museum as fast as possible. We started with the areas the kids liked best and ended with the areas the kids liked least. They all had a great time!
The kids wanted to do the water room first which worked out great because it was pretty empty!

Then we went to the pretend little town area where the kids dressed up and put on a play, and played with giant legos, and ran a bank, and did some magic tricks!

Then we headed for the fun jungle room! The kids could go shopping in this area, go across rope bridges, slide down slides, and climb around.

Then we headed outside to explore a bit. Unfortunate it was SUPER cold and windy, but the kids had fun anyway and loved all the activities. Below they are using their balancing skills!

They also had a sandy area where the kids could make sand castles.

And lots of jungle gyms!

For lunch, we all headed outside by the buses and then got our lunches and eat out on the grass. A few kids hadn’t brought home lunches though (or maybe it was that the school ran out of lunches) so a bunch of us parents and a few super nice kids shared our lunches. It all worked out and nobody went hungry. Then we were able to go back into the museum for another few minutes of fun.

Dawson and I ended our trip to the museum by getting a big cookie to share from the snack shack. Sure was a great little date with my baby boy! I so do love spending time with him.
