Hogle Zoo with Dawson

Back on March 28th, I had the wonderful opportunity to go with Dawson and his first grade class to the Hogle Zoo. Unfortunately, it ended up raining and snowing the whole time we were there the two girls in my group hadn’t dressed warm enough, but besides the cold we still had a pretty good time and just tried to take breaks inside warm buildings when we started getting frigid.
I was able to ride up with my good friend Susan Millet in the ward which ended up being such a blessing because It allowed me to pump Jamis a bottle on the way home so that I wouldn’t be too far past my normal pumping time. It was also nice to have a friend to chat with during the hour long drive to Salt Lake!
My cute little group of first graders! I ended up with only the three kids which was GREAT! Mya is the cute Hispanic girl and Berlin is the cute Blondie with the purple coat.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!

The girls kept begging to eat their sack lunches starting at about 10:00 am but I made them hold off until at least 11:00 so they wouldn’t be starving later that afternoon. We ended up finding an empty table under a pavilion to eat our lunch at which was so nice considering all the other options were out in the rain and snow! Dawson and I took home lunches but enjoyed a special treat of doritos, reeces peanut butter cups, and cookies! A rarity at our house!

Cute little Berlin who wanted to hold my hand and be by me everywhere we went (and who loved and begged to take pictures with my camera every chance she could).

After a few hours out in the cold we were happy to go to some indoor exhibits to warm up!

All in all though, it was super fun to be able to go on Dawsons field trip with him and spend that quality time with my boy! I love these little mini dates I get with my kids where we participate in fun school activities! Even the rain sleet and snow couldn’t get us down! We had a great time!
