After our fun afternoon swimming, Parris’s family, Cam and Erin’s family, and our family all decided to go and hike the Narrows in Zions. We ended up leaving Zion Ponderosa around 4:20 pm and then parked at the visitors center just after 5:00. Then we all stopped for bathroom breaks before getting on the shuttle to take us up to Zions. Parris and his family went on one shuttle while Cam and Erin and our family went on another. It took us about 45 minutes to get up to the Narrows and then probably another 30 minutes or so to get to the entrance of the narrows (where you start trekking through water). We ended up hiking through the water until just after 8 pm, and then decided we’d better head back because we were already looking at getting back to camp at 9:30. We loved the shuttle bus ride together though and getting to see the beautiful park through the windows. Such an amazing place! Below are some pictures of our time on the shuttle.
We saw some amazing scenery as we rode the shuttle to and from the Narrows.
We took a few group shots when we got off the shuttle and before we started our hike! Sure love these good folks!
I’ll post the photos of our hike to the Narrows in a separate post, but these next few pictures are of just our little family riding the shuttle bus back (we decided to leave earlier than everyone else since our kids were all starving and we wouldn’t get back to camp until 9:30 pm as it was for dinner!)
Dean and Janet and Mum and Smurf ended up making dutch oven chicken, cheesy potatoes, and salad for dinner and then we had dutch oven cobbler and smores for dessert! It was all SOOOO good! The kids burnt some of the marshmallows in the fire to a crisp and Uncle Chris ended up daring Branson to eat the burnt marshmallow. Chris even told bribed Branson with $5 if he did. Chris must have said the magic word, because Brans put the whole thing in his mouth and eat it. He said it just tasted like “burnt.”
