YMCA Pool

On Monday both Cam and Adam had to work, so Erin and I took all the kids to the YMCA swimming pool. They luckily had a free 7 day trial pass that we were able to use, so we got our whole gang of 11 in for FREE! Saweet! However, the awesomeness of the place stopped there, because holy batman were there a lot of rules and regulations that were just ridiculous and made the place not nearly as fun as it should have been. Like different colored wrist bands that you had picked up at the front desk but then had to exchange once you got to the pool and then had to exchange again once you passed a swim test, and then had to exchange again if you wanted to stay longer than an hour. Then if you didn’t pass the swim test your kids had to wear life vests (that part I didn’t mind), but then little kids that were wearing life vests weren’t allowed to go in the lazy river on their own (Dawson’s age) even though he could touch and had a vest on. Duh! Oh and then there was the rule that you couldn’t watch more than 2 kids at once (had to only be a 2:1 ration of kids to parent). Seriously? So, Mom’s with 4 kids can’t take their kids to the pool? It was seriously ridiculous. Oh well. At least the kids had fun while us Mom’s stressed about keeping all the dumb rules! I felt like I was back in India at our St. Johns Wood pool where you couldn’t do anything without getting yelled at! Needless to say, I don’t think I will be getting a YMCA pass anytime soon! ha ha!

Jamis unfortunately wasn’t a big fan of the water, or maybe just not a fan of missing his 9 am nap! But he whined and cried most of the time. Poor fella.

The older kids preferred the big slides and lazy river, but because of that, I rarely saw them most of the time. So this is the only shot I got of Branson and poor Harry didn’t get in a picture at all.

Erin and I took turns watching the babies while the other helped the older kids either pass the swim tests or go in the lazy river. Jamis ended up falling asleep in Erins arms after she wrapped him up in a swim towel and sat down for a minute to avoid getting yelled at.

After our hour was up we ended up splitting up where I took Jamis, Ady, & Grayson back to Erins house for lunch and naps while Erin stayed with Amber and the older boys who wanted to swim longer. It worked out great and we commented later that maybe there is something to this sister wives lifestyle! ha ha!
