Day 2 in Peru we decided to go and see the Larco Museum which has one of the best Inca artifact collections in the world. We figured it would be a great place to learn about the people and culture we would be so immersed in during our trip. I was really glad we did, because I felt like we all came away with a much better understanding of who the Inca people were, and what was important to them.
The museum was also amazing because it allowed you into their warehouse collection of artifacts in addition to what they had in the museum, which showed you just how vast their collection was. We literally walked through row after row of floor to ceiling items all in what appeared to be perfect condition. It was amazing. Everything was so well preserved as if the Inca had made it just yesterday, yet most pieces were over 500-600 years old. Incredible. They also had a beautiful garden that I really enjoyed exploring and taking pictures in. I love the diversity of the earth and God’s creations and each new flower, or tree, or bush I see delights me! ❤
