Church in Bangkok, Flight to Krabi, and Long Tail Boat to Railay Beach

On Sunday we were able to arrange a driver to take us to church and then wait with our luggage while we attended our meetings. We got really lucky and just happened to attend church on a Sunday when most of Sacrament meeting was in English as the mission President and some other American leaders were on the program.  We also had a wonderful missionary that was kind enough to translate for us when the meeting was in Thai.  It was so nice being able to understand all that was being said, and to feel such a nice warm spirit.
After church we had to rush out as we had a flight to catch to take us down to Krabi for the next leg of our adventure. That of spending 10 glorious days visiting different islands and having some fun beach time! Yay! This was the part of Thailand I was super excited about.

At the Thailand airport.  Aren’t those flowers beautiful!?

We booked our tickets on Thai airways which Adam and I have been so impressed with.  Even on our short 1 hour flight down, we still got drinks, and 3 small little sandwiches with juice.  So awesome!
Love this shot of my cute little family on the plane all lined up in a row.

And this was the beautiful view we were greeted with in Krabi.  We weren’t expecting rain and drizzle, but it was still lovely none-the-less.

After our flight we needed to get ourselves and all our luggage down to the Krabi pier to take a long tail boat out to our island – so we found a bus that was leaving fairly quickly and jumped on it.

This is Dawson about 20 minutes later.  Fast asleep on this chair.  Funny boy!

Then we got on our long tail boat to take us out to Railay beach.  We ended up having to get a private boat but split the cost with another couple who also needed to get out to the island for the night.

Then we had a bit of a funny thing happen.  As we approached the island our boat driver unfortunately wasn’t able to get all the way to the pier because it was low tide and the water was about a block from where we needed to be let off.  There was really only one solution, and that was to walk in the water with all our luggage to make it to the beach and then to our hotel.  So we quickly changed the kids from their church clothes to their swim suits and slowly lowered them into the knee deep water.  I took Adalynn in my arms the first time with one bag, and then dropped her off with the boys to go back and get some more.  It ended up taking Adam and I about 3 trips total to get all our luggage off as we obviously couldn’t roll it and had to carry it to the beach each time.  I thought all this was simply hilarious and just kept laughing about our circumstances.  What an adventure we were on!

We were all very happy once we did finally arrive at our hotel though.  And HUNGRY.  Adam went and ordered us some Thai food while I got all the luggage and kids settled in our hotel rooms.  Then we eat on our balcony before all heading to bed.  It was a crazy day of traveling, but came with some fun and crazy memories we will remember for years to come!  We sure do love Thailand!
