Renting a Scooter (Tuk Tuk) and Fish Net Beach

I have to admit that waking up in the morning to the sound of waves lapping and birds singing while laying under a mosquito net covered bed is pretty surreal.  Sometimes I had to just pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.  Our vacation just kept getting more and more magical too the more adventures we took and many times during the day we would just look at each other and say, “We are in THAILAND!!!”  It truly was a dream come true.
The view we woke up to – taken from the deck of our beach house.

We spent the morning sleeping in, playing on tablets, reading scriptures, and grazing on breakfast until we finally decided we should get out and see more of the beautiful island we had come to visit.  Adam spoke with the landlord of our house and was able to arrange a scooter with a side car (otherwise known as a tuk tuk) for us to rent for the day which was delivered right to our beach house!  What service!

Originally we weren’t sure if we could get 7 people on the tuk tuk, and it took a bit of finagling for Adam to get the hang of driving it, but by the end of the day we felt pretty pro!  We loved just going around the island and exploring every road we could find!  The sights along the way were breathtaking!

Our first stop of the day ended up being to this beach just 5-10 minutes from our house.  We could not believe such a beautiful gorgeous beach did not have a single person on it.  No one!  It felt like we’d walked right into heaven!

The next big shocker was just how WARM the water was.  I am usually like a cat in water when you try to get me into anything cold, but this nice warm Thai water?  I could have been in that all day!  It was so heavenly and at times felt just like bath water.  Even Adalynn (who is SO like me when it comes to cold water) had no troubles wanting to spend time in this water.  It was absolutely perfect!

There was even this cool little fresh water river right above the beach where we could go and clean off the sand and salt from swimming!  Doesn’t get too much better than that!

Adam was in heaven too because there was a group of local boys playing soccer and they let him kick a few balls around with them!

After swimming we drove to the end of the beach to snap a few more pictures.  We love all the long tail boats anchored all over.

This was our usual set up with the tuk tuk.  Adam driving the scooter with one kid behind him.  Then usually we had one sitting on our “beach bag” and 4 of us (usually with Ady on my lap) on the side bench!

More beautiful views of another nearby beach.

We sure do love Thailand!
