Back in January we had a little craziness happen in our family when my Mother-in-law Mumsie ended up needing to have an emergency surgery. It ended up happening the exact same week that she had been asked to watch my niece and nephew while their parents went on vacation. So in an effort to help I volunteered to take the kids for her. Adam picked them up on Tuesday and then we had them until Friday.
Poor little Abby (3) had a bit of a hard time the first day and just kept saying over and over how much she missed her Mom and Dad. They had left on Sunday and she hadn’t heard from them by Wednesday and she was just really missing them. So in an effort to distract her we decided to take the kids to Pirate Island for dinner and then to Chuck E. Cheese where we had a great discount coupons for tokens. The kids loved it and we all ended up having a great time.
They played while we sat in our cozy booth and watched.
I absolutely loved all the pirate decor.
We loved how kid friendly everything was. Even this guy got into the Pirate action!
The kids had Mac & Cheese, and Chicken Tenders and Fry’s with their own drink
And Abby seemed to be distracted enough from missing her Mom and Dad so much
After dinner the kids played this game that seemed to work for free!
Harry kept stealing rides on this toy that other peoples parents had paid good money for.
Silly boy! Luckily none of the parents minded.
Jackson got a few free plays too.
And I enjoyed some time with my honey buns!
It was a really fun night and great to get out of the house for a bit with the kids!
