Nine years ago today I was sealed for TIME and all ETERNITY to my perfect match in the Timpanogos Temple. Nine years ago I was able to marry my best friend and knight in “something shiny” (inside joke) and together we began a new LIFE. Nine years ago I changed my status from single to married – and became a WIFE. Nine years ago I gave myself to the man of my dreams an he in return gave himself to me and we created a FAMILY.
My Dearest Adam,
What a blessing the last 9 years have been to me and what a gift you are in my life. As I think back on our lives together – my heart is just so full of gratitude that Heavenly Father brought the two of us together. I can’t imagine being loved better or having someone just “get me” the way that you do. When we were dating I couldn’t believe that not only did you have EVERY SINGLE ONE of the qualities I always dreamed of in a man – but that you also had those little things I had “hoped for” as well. You know – the things that aren’t necessarily deal breakers but things that would be nice to have in a spouse. Like the fact that you played the guitar, loved straight hair and no make-up on girls, could talk in different accents, and could make a MEAN specialty drink! ha ha.
You bring so much joy to my life, and I love you in so many different ways. Here are just 9 of the things I love most about you!
1) I love how you can make me laugh everyday and how you get funnier as the years go by.
2) I love how when you come from work you put a big smile on your face (even if you’ve had a rough day) and give each one of us big hugs and kisses – and how every morning you come and kiss me goodbye even if I’m sleeping.
3) I love how you are always willing to help me in any way and serve our family. Whether its by helping with the after dinner dishes, changing a stinky diaper, putting the kids to bed, or helping with homework.
4) I love how you are always thinking up fun things to do as a family – whether its a trip to the Logan cabin, hot dogs around the fire, drives up the canyon, carnival rides and fireworks during Payson onion days, or a game of frisbee and soccer in the front yard – you are always the instigator of FUN in our family.
5) I love how you always do what is right when no one is looking. You are about the most FIERCELY loyal man I’ve ever met – both to me and to our Heavenly Father. I’ve never had to worry that when temptations come up – that you will choose the better path. Just the fact that you turn the TV off when a couple starts getting “steamy” – tells me that you have the courage to do the same when other temptations arise. You are such a good example to me and make me want to be a better woman.
6) I love how much you love your family. You absolutely adore your parents, siblings, and nieces and nephews and are always trying to think of ways you can do more for them and with them. And if that weren’t enough – you love MY family just as much. Sometimes I think my own mother loves you more than me! ha ha.
7) You are an incredible Father. I seriously feel as though my heart melts on a weekly basis as I see the tender way that you care for our children. You are so loving and gentle with the boys when they get hurt, get sick, or have a hard day. You are great at telling them you love them and spending TIME with them so that they feel of your love. I love that you do monthly interviews with them even though sometimes all they tell you is their favorite color. đ
8) I love your sense of adventure! When I look back on our 9 years together most of my favorite memories are from the trips we’ve taken together and with the kids. Whether it is para-sailing over the ocean in Costa Maya, deep sea fishing in New Zealand, swimming with the Dolphins in Cozumel, camping during 3 flash floods, or riding trains all over Europe – man alive have we had a BLAST together!
9) I love the way you love me. When we were dating you used to pick me a flower almost every single day. Now our boys pick me flowers and you help do dishes because you know thats what makes me feel most loved. We used to spend every single evening together when we were dating and first married. Now you will put your phone down in the car, take my hand in yours, and give me your undivided attention as we are driving so that we can spend a few minutes catching up on each others day and reconnecting. Its those little things that make me feel so loved. I love how over the past 9 years we have learned better how to respond to each other when our feelings get hurt and that often times now we can just laugh about it. I love how you know just when I need you to hold me, or tell me I’m beautiful, or when I just need a down night and to get away with my Mom or friends. Life sure is so much sweeter with you in it and I’m so grateful for the gift of you in my life.
