A Letter to the Love of My Life

I know you hear from Sarah more often than me.  But I wanted to write a quick note to my beautiful wife on our 10th Anniversary.

Dearest Sarah Marie,

Can you believe it’s been 10 years?  What has happened to the time?  What a wonderful experience it has been to be married to you.  Looking at you and our 4 wonderful children makes me feel so grateful.  I am so blessed to be in such a wonderful family!  I know that it hasn’t been a smooth road.  More often than not, we look at each other after a long day of dealing with children and their messes and wonder if we knew what we were doing when we got into this!

Then there are the moments that make everything worth it.  A smile and a nuzzle from Adalynn.  A tickle and a giggle from Dawson.  Harrison’s contagious laugh and awesome kung fu moves!  And dancing Branson and his stand-up comedy.  What a precious family you have blessed me with!

I know I don’t appreciate you as much as I should.  It’s funny how we sometimes get into a rut when we get down in the dumps.  I hope you understand that those times are temporary.  So often I look at you and I’m just amazed at your diligence and perseverance.  You are always so kind and thoughtful to everyone you meet.  You are such a beautiful woman, outside and in.  I love how you not only take great care of our home and children, but somehow you find time for special projects like quiet books, recording our family history, and landscaping!

You are my best friend.  I love to share the details of my life with you, even if you don’t care who’s website conversion rates are the highest! 🙂  I love going fun places with you!  I love taking you to my mountains and love to see you light up when we go to your beaches.  Your happiness is the most important thing to me.  I love how we’ve been able to compromise (sometimes painfully!) and make things work.  You are the light and the love of my life.  I can’t imagine being without you.  I would be lost!

Thank you for being you!  And thank you for putting up with me!  I know I have plenty of quirks, but you handle them brilliantly.  Thanks for being mine.  I love you.  Happy Anniversary!  Here’s to 50 more years together!  Here’s to enjoying eternity together!

Your knight in something shiny,

Ad.
