Baby Animal Days in Logan

On Thursday morning after some tasty breakfast at the cabin we ventured out for a day of fun with the Jurgens.  They told us about a farm nearby that was having a baby animals day and since all kids love baby animals – we knew it would be a hit!  Little did we know that the TRAIN would be the coolest part of our adventure (at least for the kids).  But we did have a marvelous time and got to see and do some fun things.  I stole a bunch of pictures off of Missy’s blog – so forgive me if things are out of order.  Enjoy!

Missy and Mudge.  We kind of like these two.  A Lot. 🙂

I think we’ve done our share of multiplying and replenishing the earth. 8 kids between our two families.  Wow!

We sure love these good folks

Missy’s highlight of the day:  Seeing the baby bears.  They were SO cute!

Sarah’s highlight of the day:  Seeing Adam be bucked off a mechanical bull!  Best $5 I ever spent!
Another bucket list item CHECKED. 🙂

Now for the not so pretty and colorful pictures (aka I was too lazy to photoshop like Missy).

The much anticipated Train ride.  One hour wait. Two times around the pond.  3 minute ride.

After our day at the farm we decided to order some take out from Adam’s favorite Mexican restaurant called El Sol and then head back to the cabin for some R&R (aka naps).  That night Missy made us her amazing White Chicken Chili with salad for dinner and we were going to have roasted asparagus with it as well but there was a bit of excitement with the asparagus that I’ll let Missy tell you about (from her blog).  It was quite the exciting event!  đŸ™‚
That evening Sarah and I were preparing dinner.  I had the lovely idea for roasted asparagus with white chili (doesn’t that sound good?)  I put the asparagus in a Pyrex dish then set it on the stove top to wait until the chili was mostly done before I roasted it.  About 10 min later the thing BURST into shards of glass everywhere.  I had accidentally turned on the burner underneath the Pyrex instead of the one behind it and managed to scare the snot out of Sarah and myself. Let that be a lesson for you, kids.  No bakery on the top. I was so embarrassed “

It made for quite the memorable dinner.  We sure love our Missy Joe! Shattered Pyrex dishes and all. 🙂
It was such a fun day spent with our fun friends!  Love them Jurgens!
