Bransons Baptism

Dearest Branson,
Your baptism day was so wonderful!  Such a special day filled with lots of love, support from friends and family, an AMAZING spirit, and just about the biggest SMILES from you we’ve ever seen.
You and Dad left early to head up to the Stake Center – all dressed up – and boy did you both look handsome!  We took some pictures outside before you guys left – of just you and Dad – but you wouldn’t open your eyes for a single one (except the one you see below sans Dad) but you could feel the excitement you had in the air.

Your brothers and sister and I met you up at the Elkridge Stake Center about 30 minutes later where you and Dad had changed into your baptism clothes and were waiting patiently by the baptismal font.  I  convinced you guys to sneak outside with me for a few minutes where we could take a few family pictures in your whites and then we headed into the chapel to wait for friends and family to arrive.

After a song and prayer – the stake had all of you soon to be baptized kids come up and they introduced each one of you and told you the order you would go back.  Our ward was 2nd on the list! 🙂  You had a lot of family and friends come to support you including Parris, Lori, Hailey, Ally, Jackson, and Abby Egbert, Uncle Tarre, Meesh, Kessa, & Kallie Egbert, Aunt Marcie, Grandma and Grandpa, Nana and Papa, Missy, Sam, William, Max, and Henry Jurgens, Eric and Kimber Christensen, Uncle Jake, Aunt Stacey, Kylie, Kaden, Alina, and Chase Harrison, and your two best friends in the neighborhood Treighton and Dax Batty along with their Mom Cari.  You also had the primary presidency in attendance including Sandy Burrell (president) Debbie Sudweeks, and Ann Wager and her daughter Ashlyn.  And then Brother Hullinger from the Bishopric was there too.

Your Dad performed your baptism and you asked Uncle Parris and Grandpa to be your two witnesses. when you came out of the water after being baptized – you had a funny look on your face  that made everyone laugh.  You were so cute!

They moved us to another room while you and Dad changed and after taking pictures of all your guests I waited out in the hallway for you and Dad so I could be the FIRST to hug you!  I was so proud!  You were beaming coming down the hall and told me you felt really really really (about 20 really’s) GOOD. 🙂

Dad then confirmed you a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and gave you the Holy Ghost through the power of the priesthood.  All worthy men in the room joined him in the circle.  Then Dad proceeded to give you a beautiful blessing.  Adalynn was a little noisy during the confirmation so I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to write it down but the blessing made me cry and reminded me again what a special wonderful boy you are.  I then said the closing prayer to end the meeting – since you had chosen me to do it.

We went outside from there to take pictures with friends and family and then those that were able followed us down to Los 2 Patrillos where you asked to have your celebratory lunch! (Instead of a party at home).  You ordered your favorite Shrimp burritto.  Those at the lunch were Aunt Marcie, Nana and Papa, Grandma and Grandpa, our family and Jakes family.

It sure was a special day and so awesome to see you make such a great decision.  I loved watching you choose to follow Christ by being baptized.  It brought me so much joy as I’ve felt so many blessings come into my life from following Christ and being a member of his Church and I want you to have and experience those blessings too.  I know you will become a better person by following the doctrines and principals taught by our Savior and I know them to be true.  I sure love you Branson Larre Egbert.  Now and forever.

Love,
Mommy
