Branson’s Leaf Man

Since Branson started Kindergarten just over one month ago I have been AMAZED at how many crafts, art projects, and other fun things he has either brought home or been assigned to do as homework. So far we’ve made a little paper doll man out of felt and cardboard, caught grasshoppers a bumble bee and potato bugs for show and tell, made a necklace out of beads using an ABC pattern, and last but not least Branson’s teacher asked him to make a man using leaves, nuts, or other natural things he could find.

Branson and I spent some time outside in our yard looking for different types of leaves, flowers, etc, and then brought them inside to figure out what to do with them. We had so much fun! Below is what we came up with. We call him “Samuel the Lamanite!” The sunflower is his shield and the feathery leafy like things are his spears. 🙂 This was also the only way I could talk Brans into making a “skirt” out of leaves for his man since boys now-a-days don’t wear skirts! ha ha. I think he turned out pretty cute. Don’t you?
