Christmas Eve Early

Adam’s family is doing their Christmas party tonight (on Christmas Eve) and since we have many traditions that run in our family on Christmas Eve, we decided to do our Christmas Eve early. Tradition #1: Opening a family gift from under the tree (usually a game we play that night).

This years family game was no other than a Wii, Wii board, accessories, and 15 Wii games all purchased used off of KSL. This has been such a fun thing for our family!

Tradition #2: Making cookies for Santa! Santa put his request in early this year and asked for peanut butter cookies with a Hershey’s kiss in the middle. But we one upped these and put in Reeces peanut butter cups instead. So yummy!

Tradition #3: Turning out the lights, lighting a candle, and reading in Luke II about our Saviors birth. Then afterwards we sing Happy Birthday to Jesus.

This is what Christmas is all about to me. Look at that light in my boys eyes! So precious!

Tradition #4: Turning on Christmas music (Manhatten Steamroller is my favorite), lighting up our little town and tree and snuggling on the couch watching the lights. (This year we also watched some Christmas nativity movies on you tube as well while snuggling) and read some Christmas stories.

Tradition #5: Watching a Christmas movie. This year we received the “Christmas Oranges” from my visiting teacher and since it was a new one none of us had watched we chose that one. It was a cute story and helped us all be a little more grateful for what we have and how blessed we are.

Tradition #6: Opening up new pajamas!

Then it was off to bed for the little ones while Adam and I made final Christmas preparations. We were able to snap these pictures of what Santa brought right before we went to bed. 🙂

I found myself feeling so blessed Christmas Eve and truly feeling the magic of Christmas in the air. I am so grateful for the birth and life of my Savior Jesus Christ. He is the reason for the season and it is my testimony of him that brings me the greatest joy in my life. I know that he lives and that by following his gospel I am a happier person, and a better person. I love him with all my heart and testify that he is REAL and that he is indeed the Son of God. May the love of the Savior permeate all your homes this Christmas season.
