While Adam was gone on his week long business trip he set up a few nights of babysitting in the evenings so that I could get some breaks from the kids while he was gone (which usually keeps me sane and from turning into “Monster Mommy”. đ However, one of the things I LOVE doing with these babysitting nights is taking my boys out one at a time for a date night with me. Its always so fun to just spend some quality time with each one where I can just focus on THEM and find out about whats happening in their little worlds.
So my first babysitting night I did get out by myself and went to dinner with my friend Susan and then we headed over to the Spanish Fork Theater to see a movie (Christmas Oranges) but for my next night I wanted to take each of the boys out. However, it wasn’t going to work out very well because of movie times that I could spend an even amount of time with Harry and Dawson for their dates and so they decided they would rather just combine theirs and do their date with me together! It worked out perfectly and I just made each one take turns listening to the other talk about themselves while I asked questions.
Our first line of attack for our date was to go and get Christmas gifts for the person each of the boys had drawn the names of. All three of the boys had been doing extra jobs and earning money towards a gift for their person and it was now time to go out and get it. It worked out perfectly too because Harrison had Adalynn and Dawson had Branson so we didn’t have to be too secretive. Dawson and Harry had both done 8 jobs total (for .25 cents per job) and had earned $2 to spend on their person. I ended up taking them to family dollar where they each chose two things for their person. Harry got Adalynn a little soft stuffed monkey (that she LOVES!) as well as a little fairy book and Dawson got Branson a big glow in the dark stick and magic box for him to do tricks. It was so fun to see the joy they both felt in picking out something special for their person.
For dinner the boys decided on Fat Jacks here in Payson which suited me just fine as it is all of our favorite pizza place. We split a medium pizza and devoured it!
Afterwards we headed over to the Payson movie Theater to see “Wreck it Ralph” which we all really loved. We got a small popcorn to share and then played some arcade games until the movie started.
After the movie was probably my FAVORITE part of the evening and is something that is seeming to become a tradition in our family. That of going up front while the credits are playing and dancing our little fannies off! The boys just love it and its so fun to see them shake it without fear of what people will think of them. We always get a lot of laughs out of those still watching the credits and this time we had about 5 different theater workers who stayed to check out the action! So fun! Below are some pictures I got of the kids dancing. đ
Sure was a fun night out with my Bobbers and Zazza! Love them!
