I am still in complete shock that Dawson is actually one years old. It just doesn’t seem like he could possibly be that old. Wasn’t he born just a few months ago? I’m pretty sure 2009 was the fastest year of my life.
Dawson has been such a huge blessing in our lives. He is such a happy little guy with the funnest little personality. He can be screaming in his crib to let you know he’s awake one second but then will be ALL Smiles when you open his door to come and get him! He is our first “Snuggly” baby and will give you big ginormous hugs when you pick him up. He also loves laying his head on your shoulder and tucking his hands underneath him on your chest. It absolutely melts my heart and I adore holding him.
We had to laugh when we took our Christmas pictures with my family this year because Dawson was the very easiest to get to smile out of all 3 of the boys. He was the ONLY one sitting still and being great for the camera while the other two boys were squirming all over and pulling faces. Not what we expected from our one year old.
Dawson is a very social little boy and likes to be where the party is. And not just in the room where the party is, but right IN the nick of the party. We laugh because he will cry at our feet while we are in the kitchen, but is happy as a clam once you put him up on the counter or in his high chair where he can see everyone. He has to be RIGHT there with everyone.
Dawson is our little crawler too. He’s still not too interested in walking but is lightning fast at getting himself around. He pulls himself up easily on just about everything and is constantly in my cupboards and drawers pulling things out.
Dawson absolutely adores his older brothers. I can actually leave Dawson with Branson and Harrison upstairs while I make dinner or clean house and he will be giggling and having a blast with them. They love to play peek a boo, and chase him around and he thinks its the greatest thing ever. He brings so much joy not only to Adam and I, but to the boys as well.
Dawson loves baths. He could sit in them all day, although he doesn’t like to be in them unless I’m in there with him.
Dawson is starting to talk and say small words. Right now he can say and wave “Hi,” Mama, Dada, Nana, and Baba. He will occasionally sign all done and ba ba, but still isn’t quite grasping onto the sign language like Brans and Harry did. Probably because I’ve been lazier with him about it. He’s been holding his own bottle since he was 4 months old and is VERY picky about the temperature of it. If its too hot or too cold he won’t touch it.
Dawson as of his 1st birthday had 2 bottom teeth both of which he got after he was 11 months old. He now has another one coming in on the top as well. Dawson is an amazing sleeper and has been sleeping through the night since he was 4 weeks old. Now at 1 years old he will sleep from 7:00 pm to 8:00 am and he still takes a 2 hour morning and afternoon nap.
Dawson is also a BIG eater. Since he turned one he has been scarfing down everything we have put in front of him. He loves cut up grapes, banana’s, bread, yogurt, lasagna, noodles, plums, mandarin oranges, corn, lettuce, graham crackers, cereal, saltines, and anything else we give him. Sometimes I think he eats more than Adam and I. He just seems to be a bottomless pit.
At his one year appointment he was doing well and keeping with my families trend of being Tall and skinny. I don’t remember the exact numbers but I do remember he was in the 80th Percentile for Height, 20th for weight, and 50th for head.
Anyway we sure love our Dawson and feel so blessed to have him in our family!

Harry-bob and Branson both enjoyed the frosting of the cupcakes best. The actual cake part never got eaten.
Okay, I should have scrolled down more!! Glad you guys had a good Birthday
