Dawsons Snuggles and Adalynn at 17 months

One of the things I want to remember about this time as a Mother is how much Dawson LOVES to be snuggled.  He will often just come and sit by me, snuggle up to me, and loves being where I am.  It melts my heart.  If he ever sees me dancing he will automatically come and grab my hands and loves to boogie on down WITH me.  Its really so cute.

Adalynn is also at a fun age right now and really likes to assert her independence.  When she’s done eating she automatically stands up in her chair (even after repeatedly sitting her back down and asking her to sign “all done”) and loves getting into my cupboards, the mail, taking my phone, and playing with anything thats off limits.  She is signing so many words now and is mimicking almost everything we say.  She calls Branson “bass” or “bub”, Harrison “hay-ee” and Dawson “Zaza or Zaz.”  My favorite thing she says is “good guh” which is good girl and something I say a lot when she listens.  Its absolutely adorable.  She also just recently started saying Jesus and will try to repeat almost every word we say.  Right now she’s learning her animal sounds and says things like kackadoodle doo “caa caa” and bawk bawk “bop.”  She also can say lots of her body parts like eyes, ears (es), nose (nos), mouth (maf), and hair. Its adorable.
She’s starting to finally get into dolls now which makes me so happy as I worried she’s was going to be all Tom boy after Christmas when she didn’t seem at all interested in the new dolls Santa brought.  But one day it dawned on me that she probably had no idea how to PLAY with dolls and so I sat down and we pretended the dolls were dancing, that we were putting them to bed, that they were doing sign language, that they were hungry, etc. and now she LOVES to play with the dolls and put them to bed.  We’ve had a lot of fun playing girl stuff together! 🙂
She’s still sleeping through the night like a champ usually going down around 7:30 or 8:00 and sleeping until 8:00 the next morning.  She feeds herself really well and has switched over from goats milk to almond and rice milk recently and seems to like it.  Her personality is really fun and its pretty easy to get her to smile or giggle now.  She absolutely LOVES her Daddy right now too and will often push me away if I try to take her right after he’s gotten home from work.  But then she usually wants me again later after she’s had a chance to get reacquainted with her papa.  đŸ™‚  She sure is a joy to have in our family and we love her so much!
