After Cozumel we had a day at sea and simply took it EASY all day long. We slept in – had a late breakfast, read in our books, watched movies, walked around the ship, took long naps, and just relaxed. It was lovely. It was also the 2nd formal night of our cruise and the night we had LOBSTER! My favorite. We ended up sitting at table with some newlyweds of only 9 days, two girls from Bosnia (whom I could sort of talk to in Slovene since they are both of Slavic origin), and a mother and daughter who were out for a girls trip! We had a great time getting to know each of them and hearing about their different lives. Afterwards we went and saw another comedian and then I went and watched the end of the newlywed game they were putting on while Adam went back to the stateroom to read.
Our final stop on our cruise was to an island that our cruise line Princess owns called Princess Cayes. On the island we didn’t have a whole lot of choices for excursions which suited us just fine. I had broken out into some sort of horrible red rash all over my body that itched like crazy which we guessed was an allergic reaction to the sunscreen I was using since it was only in places where I had put it on. So we were trying to avoid having to put more sunscreen on. We ended up finding a wonderful spot in the shade and moved a few beach chairs over where we spent the entire morning and afternoon reading side by side. It was heavenly. For lunch, the cruise ship brought in a nice BBQ where you could get ribs, chicken, hamburgers, or hotdogs and all the fixings right there on the beach. So we loaded up and headed back to our beach chairs. Below are some of the beautiful pictures of the island that we took during our stay.

They also had these great little private beach houses if you wanted to pay boo-koo bucks for them. You can see Adam on the sidewalk in the distance.

When it got close to time to head back Adam told me about a great spot to snorkel and so I quickly my fins and mask on and headed out.
When we finished snorkeling we met up with our friends Eric and Betty from New York and played them in doubles ping pong until it was time for our tender back to our ship to leave. The rest of the day we spent taking long naps, and then going out for our last formal dining experience. We sat on a table with a couple from Tennessee who were on their first cruise and celebrating their 25th anniversary and another couple who had 4 kids all in college. Afterwards we headed back to our room where we packed up our bags and headed to bed EARLY since we needed to wake up at 5:45 to get off the ship by 7:00 to get to the airport for our 9:00 flight.
Unfortunately though we ended up having our flight delayed – then delayed again once we were on the plane due to a small mechanical error – and then once again when we hit 75 mile per hour winds. Needless to say we ended up missing our connecting flight in Denver, CO and ended up having to wait in the airport an additional 3 hours before heading home. Then once we got into Salt Lake we also discovered that our luggage was missing as well so we had to go file a report. It was just one of those days! We were finally able to pick up our little boys at around 6:00 and then we took them to dinner at McDonalds (Ad got Mi Ranchito for he and I) and then we went grocery shopping and got home just in time to put the kids to bed! Whew!
We had an absolutely wonderful cruise though and were just so grateful for the alone time we had together – but also to be back home with our sweet little ones again. Thank you Luke and Shannon for taking such good care of our fella’s for us and thank you Marcie for the rides to and from the airport! We are so blessed to have you all in our lives!
