Sometimes when Adam goes out of town the kids go absolutely crazy and have a really hard time listening, obeying, and being the sweet little darlings that they are. I think its hard on them too when Daddy is gone, and sometimes their behaviors reflect that.
This last trip, however, they did awesome! And they really made an effort to step up and help out. It made Adam’s time away go so much faster which in turn made things easier on me. I’m not sure if the change came from our family goal of “showing kindness” as our gift to the Savior for the month because they wanted to put good deeds in our kindness jar or if they were feeling the Christmas spirit and more happy and good natured, but whatever reason it was, I was sure grateful for it!
So the night before Adam was to come home, I took the kids out on a dinner date to reward them for being so great. We chose to go to our favorite Mexican place in Spanish Fork where we ordered our favorite Shrimp burrito and then tried a new breakfast burrito as well. The restaurant also gave us some cinnamon chips and ice cream at the end – on the house, just because!! So nice! They must have known how good the kids were too! đ I sure do love this little family of mine!
