One of my favorite parts of Christmastime is getting together with so many people you love. From family, to good friends, to ward members and neighbors. I just love that hearts are turned towards each other and that everyone makes time to get together. Its a beautiful thing. However, this year I kind of struggled because going to all the parties is usually something we do as a family…and this year, our family just wasn’t complete as Adam had to be away over a weekend on a business trip. And it just happened to land on the weekend when ALL three of our big parties were happening (Egbert party, Harrison party, and Ward party). Whoever decided to have a business conference the weekend before Christmas wasn’t thinking very straight.
For me it just didn’t feel the same and I found myself feeling very sad all weekend missing him by my side. Christmas just isn’t Christmas when your loved ones aren’t near. However, the kids and I tried to make the best of it – and it really was very nice to spend time with so many we love. Below are some pictures from the Egbert party where we had lots of yummy soups, bread, and dessert, and then opened presents and then watched a family Basketball tournament.
