On Monday evening we decided to have a big fish fry and invited my amazing in-laws Mum and Smurf over for dinner and Family Home Evening. After dinner Adam gave us a wonderful lesson on the Book of Mormon (we use the nursery manual) and then we sang all the kids favorite songs like we do every week (Book of Mormon stories, If you chance to meet a frown, Itsey Bitsey Spider, I love to see the Temple, Popcorn Popping, and I am a Child of God). Our favorite new thing is the face Harrison makes when he tries to frown during the song (Video below).
Then for our Family Home Evening activity we put down some painters plastic I picked up at Wal-mart (thanks for the idea Erica!) and we made a big slip and slide down our hill in our front yard. I must say that it was an absolute riot to go down and probably the best slip and sliding I’ve ever done! Although I can’t actually say that I remember the last time I went slip and sliding, but still! We had a great time and the kids loved it. Mum and Smurf stayed and watched and took pictures and even helped us discover 2 hornets nests that were being built in our outdoor glider swing where they were sitting. Yikes! Thank goodness for wasp spray thats all I can say. It made for quite the eventful evening that is for sure! Here are some pics from the evening (Courtesy of my wonderful father in law Smurf. Thanks again!).
Branson singing “I love to sing the temple” and Harry and Branson singing “if you chance to meet a frown.” (Please forgive my funny singing, I was squishing my lips up like Harry does so in an effort to get him to mimic me and catch his cuteness on video)
