Fathers Day

This year our Fathers Day was unfortunately spent recovering from the flu.  Although the three of us felt about 80% better Sunday morning and about 95% better that evening we decided that it was best just to keep all of us home in order to not spread germs.
We still tried to have a decent celebration for Adam though and he started the day off with presents and the breakfast of his choice (a green smoothie and honey nut cheerios).  He received a bunch of new socks for his big day, some new headlamps, and a fun homemade fathers day survey from me and the kids (see below).
His activity of choice for his big day was napping, and if I remember right he got in three good hour + long naps!  The flu had really wiped him out but we loved that it was a day spent relaxing.
Adam about to open his fathers day presents.  You can tell he has sick eyes still.

That evening we had planned to go up and have dinner with Mum and Smurf for Fathers Day, so you can imagine how disappointed we all were when the flu bug hit us and we realized that wouldn’t happen.  We still tried to have a good time though and I ended up making a nice dinner of ham, cheesy potatoes, rolls, corn on the cob, grape juice, and berry spinach salad for Adam.   We laughed when I used and shredded “real” potatoes (because we were out of hashbrowns) and it ended up taking what felt like hours for them to cook in the oven and not be crunchy.  We ended up having the cheesy potatoes for “dessert” later that night after cooking them over and over again when they were still crunchy.  Needless to say it wasn’t my best batch of potatoes ever.  ha!

The kids and I then cleaned up dinner and gave Adam his Fathers Day survey we had been making for him for a few weeks.  I had originally hoped to put it in a card, but after several attempts of typing in all the info just to have the website time out on me and make me start over, I just decided to do something on my own.  Adam loved it though and really got a kick out of all the cute things the kids said.

Branson being silly and making funny faces with his butterfly net. 🙂

The most exciting part of the evening though (but the saddest too) was when Adalynn had a little “accident” on the playground when Branson pushed her too hard and she fell off the swing.  She ended up getting two little cuts on her head when she fell that bled.  Luckily the cuts weren’t deep though and didn’t require stitches.  Below was the extent of the blood.  Poor little thing.  She was so brave though and only cried for about 30 seconds after I got to her and held her.  Brans felt awful.

Below are the answers to the Questionnaire or Survey I did with the kids for Fathers Day.
