Friday’s Date Night

This past weekend the kids were supposed to go up to Smurfs and Mumsies for cousins camp, but Grandpa got sick so it ended up getting canceled. In an effort to allay the kids disappointment Adam and I decided to take the kids out to dinner and then up the canyon for some great outdoors mountain time. We decided to try out a little Thai restaurant we discovered months ago on Payson’s main street and ordered our usual; Masman curry, Thai noodles, and Mango sticky rice. Although the entrees were just okay, the mango sticky rice was Soooo yummy. Possibly the best mango sticky rice I’ve ever had. I was in heaven!

We had decided that we wanted to explore a new canyon and heard that Santaquin canyon was pretty good, so we headed south to begin our exploration. However, as we got near the mouth of the canyon we realized the road to the canyon was CLOSED. Yes folks, closed. Seems mighty strange seeing as its August and all, but what can you do? So we headed back to Payson and decided to explore some of the back country to see if we could find any other cool canyons in the Elkridge area. But alas, we only found subdivisions of large fancy houses, golf courses, and dead end roads. We did run into some sort of farm or ranch though and decided to stop to pet and feed the horses. The kids loved that and the little friendly farm dog that came to pay us a visit as well. We ended the night with icecream cones all around.
