Harry’s Field Trip to the Springville Farm

On Friday all the Kindergarten kids got to go on a field trip to a farm in Springville.  For the entire week leading up to the field trip Harry kept telling me that I could come if I wanted.  So I checked with Adam’s schedule and he was luckily working from home that morning and encouraged me to go.  I was THRILLED to be able to spend that time with Harry.  And from the HUGE smiles he kept giving me in class and the way he was just beaming and grinning from ear to ear I would dare say he was just as excited about having me there as well.  Mrs. Evans divided up all the Mom’s into groups and gave us all 3 or 4 kids to watch over at the farm.  This ended up being very wise because there were probably over 100 people in our group that day and man alive was it hard to keep track of just those three amidst the rush of 100 people trying to see everything at once.  Needless to say it was a bit chaotic at times.  However, I quickly learned that if we were just a little bit patient and stayed towards the back of the line that we had plenty of time to see the animals without the huge crowds.  It was nice to be able to take our time and not feel rushed.
Our group consisted of one of our favorite neighbor friends Jacey, and then another classmate of Harry’s named Joshua.

Waiting to be let into the farm

Check out all those kids!

Harry’s wonderful teacher Mrs. Evans.  We LOVE her!  Branson had her in Kindergarten too.

This skunk was pretty mad by the time we saw him.
Apparently seeing 100 noisy kids isn’t the most calming activity for an animal.

These two Lamas cracked me up because they kept trying to almost kiss through the fence.
 It was really cute.

Everyone got to pet some new baby chicks.

And we all loved the great dane dog.  He literally came up to my bellybutton.  He was HUGE!
I wanted to take him home with me.

Dawson and Joshua were on a quest to find the most and biggest feather!

I’m kind of in love with tulips!

A petrified Turtle, and plant fossil.

I can’t remember what kind of egg he said this was (maybe ostrich?) but he did say that it would be the equivalent of 25 chicken eggs!  Wow!

The farmer had a nice sand pit for the kids to play in

And a fun playground.

His cactus garden

And gold fish tank

The bunny was a big hit!

Sure was a great trip to the farm.  They ended the day at the school with popcycles al around!
