Harry’s Preschool Graduation

This last Thursday our little 4 year old graduated from preschool!  This year Harrison attended Taylor Elementary’s preschool program under the direction of Miss Susan which was so fun.  As part of the program they ask each mother to come in and help once a month for 2.5 hours.  I absolutely love doing this because I get to know each of Harry’s classmates, as well as Harry’s teacher and class helper (Miss Chelsea) and I get to see what Harry is doing and learning and participate in their fun activities.  Its so much fun!  I also get to bring in a class snack when I come too.
This year Harrison did exceptionally well and tested high on everything.  He is reading small words, can write all his letters, knows all his colors and shapes, can count to 100 and do simple math.  He is physically where he needs to be and socially doing really well too.  Miss Susan always liked to rave about him at each of our parent meetings saying he was one of her very best students!
Harry’s favorite moment of achievement though was when he went to Barnett for his Kindergarten testing a few weeks ago.  Branson’s old teacher Mrs. Evans was doing the testing and told Harry that he got the highest score out of everybody she had tested.  A perfect score!  Then she told him that he was smart enough to go into First Grade!  That really did it and all that day Harry’s head was just swelling and he kept telling people that he was skipping Kindergarten and going straight to 1st Grade because he was “SOOOO Smart!”  Little turkey.  He was especially excited to tell that to Branson!  ha ha.
But we are sure proud of our little Harry Bob.  He worked hard this year and has come a long way.  What a special part of our family he is.

Miss Susan and the other preschool teachers were all so cute and put together a program for us parents to watch.  It included the kids singing, counting, doing nursery rhymes, skits, and dances.  It was so fun to watch and Harry loved that the whole family was there to support him.

Daddy came too – but had to watch from outside the auditorium because he had a work call he had to be on.  But he got to see everything and loved it too.

One of my favorite parts of the program was when Harry and his little friend (who is a girl) Gwen started teasing each other by tickling each other with these little color pom poms Miss Susan gave them for a song they were performing.  The two of them were a riot to watch and made for some extra entertainment for us parents.

After the program – Miss Susan invited us all into the kids classroom where she presented each child with a diploma and a book to take home and read.  Afterwards they had Payson brownies and green “dinosaur punch” for refreshments.

Way to go Harry Bob!  We sure do love you!
