One day one of my very kind neighbors called me up and asked me if I’d like some beets from her garden. I actually DESPISE beets, but I have a good “Hot pink breakfast smoothie” recipe that calls for them and so I decided to take her up on her kind offer – so down we went. While we were there we got to have a hands on wild animal show – when we discovered that my friends husband had a few pet snakes and tarantulas. It was cool to be able to see and hold all his “pets” up close. Even if half my kids were too afraid to feel them.
The next day I made the hot pink breakfast smoothie for my kids and boy oh boy was it a hit with this little girl. She loved it so much she decided to save half of it for later on her cheeks, arms, hands, bib, and dress! And then thought it was so good and colorful that her tray should have a good dose of it too. Finger painting with smoothies is the best after all, right? I couldn’t help but laugh at the “aftermath” of her breakfast. How could you ever get mad at that face?
