On June 2nd Dawson turned 4 months old, and we celebrated with a party at our Pediatricians office where Dawson received two lovely gifts of shots in his thighs! Poor kid. Not my idea of a good 4 month birthday, but what can ya do? It was my first time taking all three boys to the Doctors at the same time, and it actually went pretty good with the exception of Branson NOT wanting to leave because they were showing the movie “The Incredibles” in their waiting room T.V., and he of course wanted to stay and watch it. But luckily Branson is easily bribed with candy! đ whahaha!
Anyway, it appears that we have one tall and skinny little boy on our hands, but a very healthy one at that. Here are Dawsons 4 month stats, for journaling purposes.
Weight: 14 lbs 2 oz. 35%ile
Height: 26.6. 95%ile
Head Circumference: 16.6. 48%ile
The doctor also told me I could start Dawson on rice cereal, (not because he needs the calories) but because he says its good for babies to practice. However, Dawson was NOT fond of his first taste of real food and preferred thrusting the cereal from his mouth. So we are giving him a couple more weeks to see if his preferences change by then. For now he’s just happy with Mommy’s milk, and that’s fine by me too. đ Here are some pics of our sweet little boy.

He’s currently on a 5 hour flexible eating schedule and will usually take a 2-3 hour nap in between feedings, although he’s staying awake longer and longer as each week passes. He continues to be Mr. Smiley boy and loves it when you wiggle his legs or arms, sing to him, and play peek a boo. He’s now also starting to giggle and laugh which is SO fun! When he sleeps he loves to be burrito’ed up tight in his blankets and loves his face touching something soft. In fact he will arch his back and turn his body in quite facinating ways in order to get his face on something soft. Its quite funny to watch and is an easy indication that he’s ready for sleep! đ
The only thing he currently doesn’t seem to enjoy is Branson’s intensity. But I can hardly blame him for that since Branson can easily go overboard on the lovin on brother! But I can’t really blame Branson either, because I myself absolutely LOVE lovin on him too! He’s just too darn cute! Anyway, we are sure loving our little Dawson (or Sazza, as Harry-bob calls him), and he truly brings so much joy into our home! These little ones are so very precious and I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for the gift of being a Mommy. Especially when so many are unable. Being a Mommy can at times be the hardest thing in the world, but it certainly is the most rewarding too. I am so blessed.
Dawsons first taste of cereal
What a cutie!! I love the video, he looks curious and disgusted at the same time! I cannot believe how big he has gotten, it makes me wonder what is up w/ Savannah. At 10months she was 15lbs 27in. She is so petite. I love reading your posts. You guys do so many adventurous things!
he is sooooo adorable!!! I love that video. I completely forgot about that stage and it is pretty funny when they try rice cereal for the first time! can't wait to see yall!
