Keyboards and Helicopters

Quick story about Harrison. Yesterday Branson came up to me and said, “Mom, Harry ruined the letters on Daddy’s computer.” My first thought was that Harrison had pressed some button on Ad’s laptop that turned the screen sideways (since he had somehow figured out how to do that on my laptop once before) but when I walked into the office I realized that Harrison had literally taken OFF 10-12 keys from Adam’s laptop, as in they were not attached, as in the keys and their parts were broken and scattered all over Adam’s desk. As in Harry-bob wouldn’t make it to his 2nd birthday once Daddy found out! 🙂

Harrison was instantly put in his room to think about what he did, and later when I went to talk to him about what he did wrong, he instantly said, “no no” and pointed downstairs and led me to Adam’s office where he had torn apart Adam’s keyboard. “Harry-bob No No,” he said. So he completely understood. Then he looked at me and cocked his head and said Sow (Sorry) as he rolled his fist on his chest doing the sign for sorry as well. It was really cute, but that still didn’t make that he had done better and I knew Adam would be really upset about his laptop keyboard being destroyed.

In Adam’s defense, however, he handled it like a champ and much better than I would have. Ad asked me to tell him what it was Harry did while he was still at Novell working so that he would have time to cool off before getting home. It must have worked too, because Ad walked in with a big smile and hugs for everyone when getting home from work. Infact he didn’t even mention the laptop at all to Harry, but just said, “I heard you got into some trouble today Harry.” and that was the end of it. I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful father for my boys!

This is sort of what Adam’s desk looked like only not so many keys were taken off

It wasn’t until later though that I realized Harry-bob had also gotten a hold of Adam’s Air Hogs remote control helicopter and taken all the propellers off. Oh the joys of having toddlers!

Breathe- I guess you've had time to do that but now think of all the wisdom, patience, and compassion you've gained about mothering little boys. ; )
