Kids Bedroom

On Saturday I needed to make a quick run to Wal-Mart to pick up some milk and produce. While I was there I discovered an end or season clearance on all college back to school stuff! Mirrors, storage bins, lamps, wall decor, rugs, sheets, etc. SCORE! I’ve been researching online for quite some time on cute kids rooms I like and wanted to do something similar to what you see below. These are the pictures that I got my inspiration from! 🙂

I loved the different shades of blue in this one and the pictures of the kids faces! (I also liked the fact that each of the below pictures were using light wood furniture like what we have)

I liked the way this one mixed the blues, yellows and green!

I LOVED the dark blue wall in this one with the bright green blue and yellows!

So when I found the below items in some of the bright colors I’d been looking for, I decided to run with it and see what I came up with!

And it helped a little that all this stuff was on CLEARANCE!

Then I found that once I had all the “STUFF” bought, that I was all the sudden VERY determined to get the room painted the way I wanted so that I could decorate it the way I wanted. So I ended up making a 2nd trip to Wal-Mart for paint, and then later that day made a 3rd trip for bedding and curtains!

Here is what the boys room has looked like since we moved in. BORING!

Before I got started painting the walls though, I had to make sure I captured some of the boys art! Most of these were done by Harrison during his “nap time!” Silly boy!

And this is what it looks like now!
I ended up going with 3 different colors. A soft green and blue and then a BOLD blue. The big colored posters on the walls I plan to fill up with black and white pictures of the kids blown up.

I also ended up getting a TON of storage bins for the kids to put their books and toys in!

Here’s another angel of the room

I fell in love with these darling square colorful mirrors.
They are probably one of my favorite features of the room.

I loved the multi-colored lamp!

What do you think? Is it an improvement?
I started it Saturday at around 2:00 pm and then finished painting last night.
Sure was a fun project for me.

That looks amazing! I can't believe you did all that in such a short amount of time…but once the inspiration comes and the desire is there, it's hard to stop you!
