The 2nd part of our trip to Lake Powell was FABULOUS although it almost seemed like a completely separate vacation considering we had completely different people with us from Thursday on. My brother Jake and niece Kylie came down Thursday after Amy, Lindsay, and Tyrones family left, and then our friends Chad Poulter, Nate Petersen, Jaclyn Taylor, and Emily Pohlig from our singles ward came on Friday. We had a BLAST!
We started out by taking our singles ward friends out Tubing behind the boat. Emily and Jac starting out on the single tubes, and then Chad and Nate took their turn. Chad and Nate were HILARIOUS to watch and I wish I had more pictures of it to share with ya all (My camera gave up the ghost that day unfortunately so I have NONE) Chad and Nate, however, were jumping onto each others tubes, kicking each other off, wresting, and Nate even stood up on his tube several times! It was amazing! And so fun to watch.
Jake and Luke took turns next (with me driving the boat) and we had lots of good laughs watching them battle it out while I drove them in circles around the lake trying to throw them off. Nate and Luke then took each other on, on our way home for lunch and Nate received the official name of “Spider Monkey” since he would jump from Tube to Tube trying to wrestle Luke off. He also at one point was able to grab Luke with his TOES and throw him off! It was pretty funny to watch.
After lunch we headed back out on the Lake and the guys all went rock climbing and cliff jumping. Below is Chad, Nate, and Luke all jumping off together.
We also broke out the 3 man tube and had some fun wars behind the boat with that. Here is Chad, Jake and Luke out for a spin.
The girls also took another turn on the Tube after Luke assured us he would take us on a “LEISURELY RIDE” up Moki Canyon. However, as you can see from the pictures….he is not a man of his word and the ride was NOT so Leisurely! Little Stinker!

We also got in some skiing action on the way home, but unfortunaltey that was cut short when we got pulled over by a Lake Powell boat cop who gave us a ticket for having 13 people on an 8 passenger boat. Oopsies.
We headed home after that and had a wonderful dinner of Ham, Cheesy potatoes, Veggies, and rolls, and then took things easy the rest of the night. Jake, Luke, Adam & Chad all tried their luck at Carp hunting with Lukes bow and arrow, while Nate, Jac and I looked at stars. Emily bless her heart had gotten a terrible sun burn and headed to bed early.
All in all it was a wonderful trip. Saturday we got up, eat as many leftovers as possible and then spent the rest of the morning and afternoon packing and cleaning up the boat. After we got the boat dumped and gassed up though we got stuck in a wind storm and poor Adam had quite the challenging time getting the boat on the buoy. Chad saved the day though by jumping in the water and with his super human strength pulled the boat to the buoy and got us all hooked on.
Then as tradition would have it, we stopped in Hanksville for Burgers and Fries before heading home. Thanks again to everyone who came. We sure had a great time with ya all! Love you’s!
