On Tuesday night this week I was able to finally gather all the ingredients for my first attempt at making a recipe for the BEST mint brownies I’ve ever tasted from my friend Ashlee (in our singles ward). Adam had brought one of these delectable, sinfully delicious, melt in your mouth, I’m going to heaven brownies home for me one Sunday night after ward prayer, and I could not REST until I got the recipe. It is a known fact that I have been on a mint-brownie kick lately, but these put ALL other mint brownies I’ve tasted to shame. They were that good! (Even better than the Creamery’s at BYU). It is hard to explain but the texture and taste was almost like putting a mint brownie tasting truffle in your mouth. So Delish!
We had our great friend Amy McNeil over for dinner that night as a thank you for watching our boys for us and so for dessert we made these brownies. The boys always love to help me bake and had a great time being my stirrers, ingredient putter-inners, and icing-lickers!
So how did they turn out you ask? Well I wish I could say that my first attempt turned out perfectly, but alas…one more reason why I am NOT a baker, and prefer making meals over cookies! Although they were still VERY tasty, the texture of them just didn’t even compare to Ashlee’s and they didn’t have that same melt in your mouth quality I was hoping for. I also couldn’t get the drizzle to work properly and ended up having to redo it 3 times to get it to actually drizzle. But…the good news? I now will have more excuses to make these delicious brownies again. Practice makes perfect right? I’m all up for the challenge! đ
On a side note, I found these beauties on the counter as we were making the brownies. Apparently even banana’s can be artistic! đ I’m guessing Harry-boby was the artist behind this masterpiece! đ
