During the Christmas break Adam and I decided to bring in a babysitter for a couple of days so that we could properly celebrate his birthday. đ Adam originally wanted to go skiing but because we hadn’t received any new snow up in the mountains in weeks we knew the slopes would most likely be more ICY than Powdery which isn’t really fun to ski on. So we opted to try to go another time. But with babysitters booked we made the best of it anyway and went and did some fun things. Our first day we went out to eat with one of Adams co-workers, ran some errands, and then went to see “Saving Mr. Banks” at the movies in Payson, but for our 2nd day we wanted to make sure we made it to the temple. We’ve had a goal to go every month in 2013 and had so far made our goal but we were getting down to the wire for December with it being New Years Eve – so it was our last chance to go.
However, unbeknownst to us almost all the temples in Utah are CLOSED on New years eve, or they close early. We had no idea about this until my good friend Susan whose daughters were babysitting for us let that day let me know and luckily she saved us from a frustrating day of going to the temple only to have it be closed! Instead, I was able to look at the church’s website and found out that the Manti temple was open until 11:00. So we booked it over to Manti as fast as we could to make the 10:30 session. It was a beautiful day and so nice just to take a nice long drive with my sweetheart to the temple where we could talk and listen to great music and reconnect. We loved it. We also loved getting to go to a live sessions (where the teachings we learn about in the temple are acted out instead of in movie format) and that was really neat. It was a great day spent with my honey! Below are some pictures we took of the temple after our session.
Adam had a hankering for some Chinese food for lunch so we found a place in Ephraim that was open and tried that out. For me the food was just so so, but for Adam he actually put it above Tsing Tao’s (which has been both our favorite place to go). I was quite surprised but happy that my Birthday boy had a good meal that he loved. We sure do love spending time together! Happy Birthday sweetheart!
