Mommy’s Birthday

Dawson and I are only two days apart when it comes to our birthday’s so we had lots of celebrating going on at our house in a weeks time. For my birthday Adam made me breakfast in bed and then had this gigantic box – half wrapped with balloons on it for my present. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what was in it since we had agreed that I could get either a new bed or a new stove for my birthday – neither of which would fit in that box – but it was sure fun to have something to unwrap.

What the present ended up being was a whole bunch of smaller presents that I had to unwrap until I finally found a gift certificate entitling me to my new bed or stove. ha ha! Adam is so creative and it made for a much more exciting morning. Love him!

Since I was still feeling pretty miserable and haven’t wanted to venture out to do ANYTHING in the last few months – the only thing we could really do was go someplace where I could EAT (which is the only thing that helps me to feel better). So I got a whole day of going out to eat -which was wonderful. For lunch Adam took me to Magelby’s Fresh where I ordered my favorite Halibut dish with rice and veggies and then got a piece of their incredible chocolate cake. Soooo good! Dawson and Harry were able to come with us on our little lunch date while Branson was at school.

Then later that evening Mum and Smurf were kind enough to take the boys for us so that we could have some “alone time” for my birthday as well. Again the only thing I could think of to do that wouldn’t make me feel more sick was to go out to eat. So to Texas Roadhouse we went where I was able to order a steak and ribs platter, loaded baked potato, salad, and specialty drink! It was sure yummy and we had a great time just being together.

One thing I didn’t realize though when picking my birthday restaurant was that Texas Roadhouse makes a BIG deal out of birthdays by embarrassing you as much as possible! A big Yee Haw while sitting on a bull is enough to make any girl blush!

To end the evening Adam took me to a little clothes shop that I’d been wanting to check out to look for some new outfits for my expanding tummy. Although Adam was most likely MISERABLE throughout it all he kept a smile on his face just for me and helped me try on and look through clothes. He sure is my hero and made my birthday so special for me. Thanks babe!

What little store? My sister-in-law is pregnant and wants some clothes. I hope you are feeling even better now. I feel so bad for women who get sick with pregnancy.
