One of the awesome things that I love about having a girl is that Adalynn is SO interested in girly things. The boys all went through a phase where they were curious about makeup and jewelry and Mommy’s beauty routine as toddlers but it quickly passed and they were off to play cops or fight the bad guys outside with their pretend guns and swords. Adalynn on the other hand LOVES anything girly. She loves to find beaded necklaces around the house and put them on. If her bow falls off she brings it to me to put back in. She loves shoes. She loves soft lovies, and adores animals. Her favorite right now being turtles. She just gets super super excited anytime she sees a turtle whether its in a book or in real life. Its really cute and we love how she says it too. Pronounced “terd-ow.” Right now Adalynn also LOVES Mommy’s makeup (or Mommy’s pretties as we like to call them). Whenever I start getting ready for the day she instantly begs “up please” over and over until I put her up on the counter top where she can explore my jewelry box and makeup bag. And every so often she does manage to get something open which results in what you see below. I’m completely amazed that she consistently puts things on in the right places too. She knows the blush goes on her cheeks, the eye liner on your eyes, and the chap stick/lip gloss on your mouth. It really is so cute. Below are some pictures from a few weeks ago when she managed to get my eye liner lid off while I was distracted putting on my mascara. I’m kind of in love with these pictures.
Blush brush in one hand and an eyelash curler in the other.
Is this how you put on chap stick Mom?
Yes dear. But next time you might want to try taking the lid off. đ
Then after getting all the makeup washed off, and we had lunch we decided to go out and enjoy our nice Spring day. Adalynn adores her big brothers and especially loves them when they take her for rides in the wagon. It is her transportation of choice. đ
Sure love being a Mommy!
