Mothers Day

This last Sunday was an absolutely wonderful day for me. Not only did I get to see my own wonderful Mommy and Grandma – but I also got to see my Mother-in-Law Mumsie as well. How blessed I am to have such amazing and incredible women in my life.

In addition to spending the day with precious people – I also got spoiled rotten by my darling husband and little niblets. I was instructed from the moment I woke up – that I was NOT to leave the room and about half an hour this beautiful tray arrived all for me. Some super yummy french toast smothered in strawberries and cream with grape juice and egg – and some lovely flowers the boys had gone out and picked for me. What a great way to start out the day!

Then after breakfast I was presented with a few lovely handmade gifts from my children. Branson made me this beautiful book!

If you can’t read the below note it says the following: (Branson’s answers are in caps)
My Mom looks prettiest when EVERYDAY.
Mom cooks the best COOKIES (spelled Cookis) in the world!
I love it when Mom and I go TO SCHOOL. (I usually go 1-2x a month to help in his class)
I love it when my Mom PUTS ON MAKE-UP. (This one totally made me laugh- really?)
I don’t like it when my Mom PUTS ME IN TIME OUT. (ha ha. Maybe I should just put myself in one then? How cool would that be?)
Thank you Mom for MAKING COOKIES!

Branson told me the below picture is of all 5 of us going trick or treating. You can see the pumpkin like bag he is carrying in the picture. Can you tell which ones me? ha ha.

Actually my favorite color is white – but close buddy!

This one says: “My mother is good at Teaching me.”

My Mother likes it when I OBEY. (Yep, I sure do!) The below picture is me saying “Branson Please Sweep” and him saying “Ok.”

I told Adam last year that one tradition I wanted to start on Mothers Day was taking pictures of my boys and me WITH my boys. Below are my attempts at pictures of the boys. Notice one of them is missing. Little stinker!

This is Harry’s version of a “BIG smile.”

Then we took the party outside – but the wind was blowing SOOOOO hard. I still love this picture of all my little fella’s faces though. So precious.

At church our ward was so nice and gave all the mothers a big huge Symphony chocolate bar. I was SO happy when I got my favorite kind – almonds and toffee chips. Doesn’t get too much better than that! The primary also put on a darling program for mothers day too – but I had the back end view seeing as I was up on stage as well being a primary teacher. 🙂 The kids did a great job though and it was a really nice program.

After church Adam let me take a little nap while he started dinner and cleaned up the house a bit for our visitor that afternoon. My Mom, Dad, and Grandma Harrison were able to join us for our big Mothers day dinner which was so nice. Adam made a big pot roast with mashed potatoes gravy, broccoli, carrots, yellow squash, rolls, fruit salad, and grape juice mixed with sprite and then for dessert I was able to make chocolate covered strawberries and caramel covered chocolate pretzels. Then Mom really spoiled us and also brought carrot cupcakes and a chocolate moose pie! YUM! For Mothers Day this year all my siblings and I went in on some tickets for Mom and Dad to go and see Mamma Mia at the capital theater. Mom said she LOVED the gift. We spent the rest of the evening catching up on each others busy lives and showing pictures of our cruise. It was great to spend that time with my Mommy, Pappy, and Grandma. I’m so lucky to have them in my life.

They left around 6:30 and so we decided to head up to Mum and Smurfs to spend some time with Mumsie on Mothers Day as well. We took her up some goodies, flowers, and a CD that we had gotten for her and then had fun visiting with Parris and his family who were also up visiting. It was such a fun and wonderful day!

Thank you to all of the wonderful mothers in my life. To my own Mommy who brought me into this world and continues to be an inspiration and cheerleader in my life. To my Mother-in-law Mumsie who is always doing things for others, to my Nana and Grandma who have shaped me in different ways, to the many mothers of friends who loved me even though I wasn’t in your family, to the mothers who now teach my children and help them to do whats right. I am surrounded by wonderful women with or without children who have made such a difference in my life. How grateful I am to all of you! Thank you for your selfless service and love! Happy Mothers Day!
