On Saturday afternoon we were able to head up to my Mom and Dad’s in Alpine for our annual Nana’s Workshop. My Mom is so good at getting us together as a family to do a service project every year and the last two years we have put together over 100 food/goodie bags for children that visit the Food bank with their parents. Each of us is assigned to bring 100 of one to two things to put in the bags and then we spend an afternoon putting the bags together. This year the bags consisted of raisins, fruit snacks, crackers, a drink, candy, and a small toy. It was so fun to put these together and I love this tradition that we do each year to try to get us in the Christmas spirit of giving.
Afterwards we had our family Christmas party which started out with the kids gift exchange. We do wrapped $1 gifts and then play the left/right game to see who ends up with what gift. They kids always love it!
After that we all headed downstairs for our big Christmas feast of brown sugar ham, cheesy potatoes, sweet cauliflower, veggies, green bean casserole, and rolls. It was all SO YUMMY!
After dinner we had a “biggest calves” competition between the girls and then siblings. We were laughing so hard because most of us have NOTHING in the way of calves. Dad was the only one to get them in the family.

We were laughing so hard during all this because Jakes legs look EXACTLY like mine (minus the hair). He could totally be a female legs model! 🙂 Luke was the obvious winner in our family!
Then that evening we had our traditional white elephant gift exchange. This year we each brought two $5 gifts and then two white elephant gifts. Then Mom and Dad wrapped up a bunch more of their junk to make the game go longer. The big joke is to get one of Mom’s old Novell bags (she worked there for 17 years and collected a gazillion of bags and likes to give them away every Christmas).

Luke and Shannon wrapped a gift completely in tape and required the opener to NOT use anything to open it. Stacey was the lucky gal to pick it!

The highlight of the game though was a gift I had wrapped. It consisted of a little baby girls summer dress, and a BREAST PUMP. Of course my Dad was the one to get it!

Yes, we are PREGNANT with baby number FOUR! Consider this our announcement! 🙂 I’m still seems so surreal that we will actually be the parents of FOUR little munchkins but we are SO EXCITED! It was a perfect little Christmas present for our family! We think I am due about August 21st going from my last period, but I’m guessing I’m due more around the beginning of September since that chart never seems to work for me. What a blessing to our little family!
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!
