This past week has been a significant one here at the Egbert house. A few weeks ago Adam was approached by one of our good friends (Josh Daymer) and was asked to interview for a position Josh had open on his team. Adam was a little hesitant at first as he really likes what he is doing at Novell, but after hearing more about the position Ad decided to interview for it and an offer was extended. As we approached the decision in prayer and in the temple, we felt really good about either choice (to stay with Novell or move to Omniture) but after weighing the pro’s and con’s we felt that Omniture was strategically a better career move for Adam, and more along the lines of what Adam would eventually like to do. So we accepted the position. Adam put his two weeks notice in at Novell, and on Wednesday this week Adam boxed up his office and said goodbye to the company he has worked for the past 4.5 years. It was a bitter sweet time for both of us, as we both have many wonderful memories of Novell (I worked there as well for over 3 years) and we knew we would miss many of the wonderful friends we have made there. Novell has been a wonderful company to work for and we both feel very blessed for the time we had there, but especially for the good people we have been able to work for and with.
As a last hurrah for Adam, his team at Novell took him out to lunch at his favorite Thai place in Provo and the the kids and I were able to come and join them. (Thanks again everyone for lunch!) Then afterwards we went and watched the second Night at the Museum movie at Movies 8 before taking Ad back to work to finish packing up his office. Adam starts his new job at Omniture this coming Monday. We sure feel blessed to have this new opportunity in our lives and are excited to see where this new path of life takes us.
