New Curbing

Adam and I have been planning to put in curbing in our yard for about 2 years now.  The first summer we ran out of money after putting in our rock wall, building garden boxes, having big machines come in and level out our yard, putting in a sprinkler system, and then buying sod.  Whew!
Then last year we again were supposed to get curbing but our neighbor friend who was doing the curbing for us stayed really busy all summer so we ended up deciding to start our front porch.  The porch unfortunately ended up costing us twice what we had been quoted though – so in the end we ran out of money for curbing AGAIN.
This year it was my first priority and I was bound and determined to get it done.  So after bugging my neighbor (who is great – just Tongan) everyday for a week – we finally got his guys to come out and get-er-done!  I was so happy and I love how it all turned out!  Makes the yard finally look a bit more “finished.”  We of course still have a LONG way to go to make it look awesome….but I think the curbing helps so much.

Garden boxes AFTER.  Its hard to see but we enclosed the garden space in with curbing all around it and plan to put down landscaping paper and then cover it in gravel.

Back yard AFTER.  I love my new row up top to plant even more flowers!

And I just had to throw in this picture of my rock tiers.  Little by little they are coming along.  I’ve planted a TON of flowers along the top two tiers and then hope to get some trees and bushes in this year.

Its still a work in progress, but we are LOVING our new curbing!  Makes me happy!
