During the week from Christmas to New Years – Adobe had company shut down which meant Adam had the entire week off work. Yay! We decided since the weather was so nice to spend some of that time putting together the boys new playground. The instructions for the playground said it would take two people about 24 hours from start to finish to build and we found that to be about accurate. We ended up spending about 4 days working on it – some days spending 8 hours and other days just a few. Adam during this time developed the same cold I had just gotten over so he was really a trooper going outside with me everyday to help build. For the most part I took over the “organizer” and “delivery” job and was able to separate and sort all the lumber and hardware into piles taking inventory – and then I would put all the equipment needed for each step together for Adam and deliver it to him outside. Adam took on more of the “assembly” part of the job and did most of the screwing in screws, drilling, cutting, and muscle work – although I did get to use a few power tools here and there too! FUN! Together we made quite the TEAM! We kept commenting to each other how fun of a project it was and how much we enjoyed working on it TOGETHER. We are sure it will be a source of joy and happiness for our family for many years to come.
The boys were a big help too and often would come down and watch us and help take lumber and hardware out to Daddy too. They also were great cheerleaders and would be AMAZED when they’d come down and see our progress and they’d get so excited as each new step was completed. I loved hearing the excitement in their voices and couldn’t wait for the moment I could see them playing on it! It was worth every moment to see the smiles on my little boys faces when they finally got to play on it for the first time! Priceless. Below are some pictures of their first moments on their new playground! Thank you Santa!
